DUMBO WEDDING | Haejin and Jon

Haejin and Jon are a gorgeous couple. They were looking for a creative photojournalist style for their wedding and the day we met we knew they were our kind of clients: they knew exactly what they wanted and trusted my advice, profesionalism and  vision. That kind of warmth and trust make me feel really comfortable and inspired doing the work I love, and I thank all my clients for that!

Thanks to the rest of the vendors: Gild Hall Hotel, Make up artist Ai Sakai (ailovehair.com), the venue Smack Mellon (smackmellon.org), videographers Will and Karrie (mymoho.com), catering by Clara Kim and DJ Ken Vargas.

Will (Pastor Will Eva) - I am Jonathan Eva’s father and was also the presiding minister at Jon and Haejin’s April 27 wedding. Embodying these two roles as I do, I acknowledge that it’s nearly impossible for me to be objective about Jon and Haejin or their wedding, and therefore my perspective regarding the photography of the whole occasion may well be questioned. However, as someone who has officiated at many weddings, I want to say that you have done an outstanding piece of work.

I might add a perspective that I’m sure you seldom get: That of the presiding clergy person at a wedding. During all too many wedding ceremonies, even professional photographers sometimes tend to seem unconscious of the underlying spirit and delicacy of the ceremony itself. They sometimes become a distraction, virtually taking over. But though you covered the duration of the ceremony thoroughly, I must say that I hardly noticed your movements.

Again, as the groom’s father and as the presiding minister at Jon and Haejin’s wedding these remarks may sound unreasonably positive, but please know they are carefully considered. I am glad to sincerely and respectfully thank you for a job very well done.
